A quintessential 60's garage band if there ever was one, the Penetrations were one of a handful of Columbus garage bands that recorded a track for the now legendary Hillside compilation album that was released locally in 1966 and in later years became a highly sought-after snapshot of the raw garage-band sound. Discovered only recently, the Penetrations also cut two acetates that are pictured here. These are the only copies know to exist and represent a unique historical remnant of the garage band sound emerging from Columbus during the mid-sixties.
